About Jamil Abubakar

In addition to his college degrees in business and information technology, Jamil Abubakar has completed aviation training with multiple organizations. He made his lifelong dream of flying a reality in 2010 after earning his private pilot license through Epic Aviation. Jamil Abubakar went on to obtain Boeing 737 600-900 and BBJ type ratings through Aerostar and secure a position as a first officer and pilot with IRS Airlines.

While working for IRS, Mr. Abubakar returned twice to the aviation training environment, receiving a Fokker 100 type rating from Sim Aero in 2011 and a Boeing 737 300-500 series type rating in 2017. Shortly after earning this final rating, he assumed his current position as a senior first officer and Boeing jet pilot with Azman Air.

In his free time, Jamil Abubakar is an avid skydiver and scuba diver. He is also a passionate soccer fan whose favorite team is Real Madrid.
